High school students interested in student exchange to Japan should apply now for the AIIU High School Exchange Programs.  Students will attend a high school in Japan whilst living with volunteer Japanese families.  Scholarships, currently valued at approximately $2000 are available to outstanding applicants applying for 10 month program (March Departure) only.

Who can apply?

The Student Exchange Program is for self motivated students who will become cultural ambassadors for Australia. Applicants must:

• be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• have achieved average or above grades
• have studied Japanese for a minimum of 1 year at High School Level prior to departure. Students who have not studied Japanese or who have a low level of proficiency will be required to undertake intensive learning prior to departure.
• have completed grade 9,10,11 or 12* in the year previous to their Student Exchange and have turned 15 prior to departure (*Due to Department of Education Regulations in VIC & ACT, students who are currently completing year 12 in these states are not elligible to apply)
  
• *Students in QLD, NSW,TAS, NT, WA currently completing Yr 12 are only  eligible for the March Program.
