2009 host schools! 2009/01/12 03:59 Karma: 0
Man, I couldn't go on the internet for a bit and I come back to the other 2009 topic being insanely full haha. You guys talk about a lot eh

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR(yes yes, a bit late but hey!)!!!

I'm curious which school everyone got into, and which year :O

I'm in Okayama Joto High School, 3rd year! I was really expecting 2nd year so I'm surprised. I did a bit of research on Okayama, far from Tokyo but seems like a pretty chill place, definitely looking forward to it

What about you guys?

A few days ago I got an email from my future host sister. I was very suprised considering I had no information whatsoever on where I was staying or what school I was going to. So, I've been pumping my host sister for information. I am staying in Isahaya in the Nagasaki prefecture.

My school is called Isahaya ShouGyou. It's a commercial school. I had hoped to be a little closer to Tokyo but I don;t mind because my host sister seems so nice and Nagasaki has an interesting history and culture. I don't know what grade I'm in yet, I'll have to wait for Orientation for that, I guess.

Haha, yeah trav., I got home from work and felt like playing Final Fantasy[nerdyyy] instead of sleeping

Have you gotten your information now? I just got a copy in the mail of what was in my email, the costs are so....costly ;_; 100,000 yen for transport, it says. It'll be the death of me

Haha it turns out I read wrong the first time and got overexcited, I'm not in third year! But it doesn't say the year...sooooo meh. I hope I'm third year anyways though, I wanna be with the big kids

Ashley - that's so awesome! Did she write in Japanese or English?

I wonder if I have host siblings....

Final Fantasy...nerdy? Never. Long live Sephiroth. Pretty boy. ^_^

Anyways, my host sister originally wrote to me in fairly simple english and I wrote back in Japanese. The following email she replied in Japanese and it took me a little while to decode all of the horrendous kanji and write her a reply. I'm waiting on her third email...it's really annoying because I want to know everything right now...T_T

Nerdy when working at a game arcade only to come home at 3am and play MORE video games rather than sleep keke

Kanji are so fun haha. Do you know about FireFox's Rikai-chan add-on? It's a secret of mine, but I'll share it It makes FF work with kanji+words+particles in that you can mouse over a character/characters and it gives you meaning and its reading(s)

Ps, Tidus ftw~ He never gets enough recognition!
