Our goal is to promote friendship and international understanding through educational and cultural exchange programs with students who range in age from 9 to Adult.
AIIU host families are volunteers who are interested in sharing their home and family life with students from foreign countries. These families receive a small stipend to offset the cost of hosting.
The homestay experience is an important part of our programs as it gives foreign students the opportunity to learn about Australian culture as a member of a family.
AIIU's short term hosting is usually for a period of 1 to 4 weeks. Students arrive throughout the year with the majority coming in July and August during the Northern Hemisphere summer vacation.
Host a foreign student for a longer stay
AIIU's long term hosting can be for a period of one to five months. These students visit Australia as participants in AIIU's reciprocal student exchange program. Families may choose to host a student for a term, a semester.
Host Family Tour
AIIU arranges a host family tour for interested host families. This tour includes homestay, excursions and all travel arrangements.
